Health
When it
comes to your health, there's a lot of things you can't do much
about ...like, for example, your genetics. But when it comes to the
day-to-day habits that either build your health, or destroy it...
that either work with your genetics or against them... you're
the one in charge.
And
because health habits are things you do consistently, over a
long period of time...improving them, even the small ones,
may have a much more profound influence on your well-being
than you ever imagined.
It has been estimated that up to
70% of all illness is preventable, if people
would improve their health habits in the areas of activity,
diet and smoking.
Perhaps you've identified some habits you'd like to
change. Or maybe you already had a long list of things you
"shouldn't do". Like most people you've probably
vowed to change them before, only to forget your vows a
short time later. The road to poor
health is paved with good intentions.
What you really need is someone to help remind you
day-by-day of the steps you need to take...so that
gradually, over a long period of time, the improved
behaviour
becomes a habit you hardly have to think about.
Some habits, such as seat belt
use, you may change simply as a result of being reminded; others will
require a more gradual, long-term effort.

Could this be you?
Hand in hand into the
future!
In health news today you'll hear a lot about such topics as genetics,
epidemics, miracle drugs, new surgeries, implants and devices. But the
fact is, a lot of what impacts your health and well-being are things you
don't even think about much in a normal day. They're things you just DO,
day in and day out, year in and year out, until they become a part of you.
We're talking about
your habits...both health and safety-related. And because you do them so
consistently, over such a long period of time, their influence on your
well-being is a lot more profound than you may think
.
It has been estimated that up to 50% of deaths
can be attributed to lifestyle; to daily habits in the areas of
exercise, diet, smoking, drug and alcohol use, sexual behaviour, and
seatbelt use.
You only have to change one habit at a time, and before you know it ---
voila! A healthier new you!
And that's the really big news in health
