Guest Speaker:  Colin Such, auctioneer and senior postcard valuer at Warwick & Warwick, relates his experiences during Thirty Years on the Rostrum.

Display:  Old Stonehouse Revisited  (Richard Fisher)

Wednesday 10 February

Guest Speaker:  ShelterBox volunteer Peter Keast builds an emergency home to demonstrate how the Helston-based charity provides vital aid work around the world.

Display:  Blooming Lovely – horticultural memorabilia from seeds to lawnmowers as well as vintage postcards  (Ron Rowberry)

Visiting Dealers:  Tony Lucas (Saltash) and Jim Fisher (Par)

 

Wednesday 10 March

Guest Speaker:  Chrissie le Marchant, the Cornwall County Council park ranger responsible for Kit Hill, explores every fascinating aspect of this historic landmark

Display:  Royal Visitor - the Prince of Wales in the West Country  (John Buckingham)

Visiting Dealer:  John Brown (Ilfracombe)

 

Wednesday 14 April

Guest Speaker:   Anderton & Rowland’s historian Stephen Smith recounts the lives of these long-established travelling showmen.

Display:  Fairground Fun - sideshow and amusements  (Steve Veal)

Wednesday 12 May

Proper Cornish evening & Pasty Supper (to which all foreigners are invited!)

Cabaret artistes Sparyon (Alan & Linda Jewell) from Redruth tell the story of Cornish emigration in words, song and music

Display:  Cornish Hamlets – a choice selection by various East Cornwall postcard photographers (Tony Lucas)

Visiting Dealer:  Steve Prescott (St Ives)

 

Wednesday 9 June

Guest Speaker:   One of PPCC’s most popular speakers Simon Dell recalls how he fulfilled a lifetime ambition by trekking to Base Camp – Mount Everest

Display:  Mabel Lucie Attwell – another choice selection of this highly-collectable children illustrator’s work  (Maureen & Peter Keast)

Visiting Dealers:  Barrie Rollinson (Bridgwater) and Richard & Claire Jones (Quethiock)

 

Wednesday 23 June

ANNUAL SUMMER WALKABOUT

Bovey Tracey hosted by Bovey Tracey Heritage Trust
 followed by a buffet supper at the Dolphin Hotel

 

Wednesday 14 July

Guest Speaker:   Geoff Ashton, Secretary of the Louis Levy Collectors Circle, travels from Berkshire to reflect on the Golden Age of the prolific French postcard publisher. 

Display:  The Perfect Match – postcards and lace covering all the European bobbin varieties (Barbara Bowles)

Visiting Dealer:  David Walker (Wellington)

Guest Speaker:  Club Secretary Di Lawer presents a nostalgic postcard view of bathing and laundry in her new slide show Washday Blues

Guest Speaker:   Bill Caldwell, the celebrated cartoonist of The Sun and Daily Star newspapers, describes his work and the pressures involved in creating a daily smile for readers
