Killfile Hints

Most effective: If you have downloaded and installed
NewsProxy/Nfilter, and if your news server will provide the proxy
with all headers (not just “From” and “Subject”), target his IP addresses:

NNTP-Posting-Host: 68.186.244.138
Despite any changes he may make to his user ID or fake email address, the
above headers will invariably show up in his posts, even when he posts
through Google Groups.
Update! It appears that Mr. Davidson has found a Usenet
provider that does not post its IP address in the headers. Although this
complicates the ability to identify his posts, a few options remain for
filtering him. His posts contain an encrypted "X-Trace" header, and it has
been pointed out to me that the ending string of characters remain the same
for each post. If you have downloaded and installed NewsProxy/Nfilter,
and if your news server will provide the proxy with all headers (not
just “From” and “Subject”), you can target that string by using an asterisk
to replace most of the characters, like this:
X-Trace: *fagklmibllijll
I have been informed that filtering him on that criterion has been 100%
effective so far. If you cannot filter him by the "X-Trace" header, it also
appears that he is the only one in MFW who is currently using the 2.0 free
version of the Forté newsreader, so try looking for this string:
X-Newsreader: Forte Free Agent 2.0/32.652
If you have downloaded and installed NewsProxy/Nfilter, and if
your news server will provide the proxy with all headers (not just “From”
and “Subject”), you can target that string in the "X-Newsreader" header.
Otherwise, you can still use it as an identifier and filter or "killfile"
the email address of any message that identifies that particular newsreader
version. If he upgrades his Free Agent newsreader, I will update these
killfile hints. (I doubt he will spend any money of the full version of
Agent, since it doesn't improve his trolling ability.)
Less effective: Target his email addresses instead of his
user ID. He changes user IDs more often than email addresses, and on the
occasions when he posts through Google Groups, he is required to have
a real email address. In recent posts through Google Groups, he has exposed
several real email addresses, making them available for immediate filtering:

Every time one of his real email addresses is filtered, it means that he
has to go through the process of creating another anonymous webmail account,
applying to Google Groups to post with that account, and waiting for Google
Groups to email him confirmation. It’s a boring and time-consuming process
that he probably isn’t willing to do every day, much less several times per
day.

Despite any changes he makes to his user ID or fake email address, the

Less effective: Target his user ID rather than his fake email
addresses. He is very adept at coming up with minor variations and multiple
permutations of his “bu$h-hatred” fake email addresses in order to evade
filters, but he wants everyone to know that the messages come from him, so
he will invariably posts under the following user IDs:

Most Effective: Target his user ID and his email addresses.
Note his two IP Addresses. He also posts via
http://groups.google.com. However,
despite his early desire for Usenet openness and his strict opposition to
anonymity, he wants his identity to be
disguised now, so he will usually post under the following user ID:
JMW

He is however, a very busy, cunning and sinister
troll, who has a variety of anonymous accounts which he uses to gather
information at Usenet, despite the fact
that he now claims to be killfiling people. He is careful not to post using
these surveillance accounts. His behaviour is extremely bizarre, as he
spends an inordinate amount of time trawling the Internet, for sensitive
information about people to whom he takes a dislike.
He hoards this information away in special folders
he keeps for this purpose, and will use this knowledge
to bully, blackmail and otherwise intimidate people, particularly in Usenet
newsgroups. He is an insidious Internet and Usenet stalker and has caused
untold numbers of innocent people much embarrassment and distress with his
objectionable and loathsome behaviour, when he
publishes the sensitive personal information about them that he has thus
acquired.
He is a rabble-rouser, and under the guise of
respectability and plausibility, will troll those he doesn't like, or
who criticise him, and attempt to encourage others to do the same. All those
who oppose him he labels trolls, and suggests to other group members that
they should killfile or ignore those so labelled. He is a really unpleasant
person and should be avoided at all costs.
